I will be the first to admit, memoir type books are not my favorite. I feel that sometimes they can come off as "look how much worse my life as compared to yours but now I'm rich". This was my initial fear for this book. However, after reading this preview, I don't think this book will go that way. In just seventeen pages, she does a wonderful job of drawing you into her childhood and divulging events that I think almost every reader could connect to. Plus, her descriptions and love affair with food just does something for the food lovers out there.

The cover is gorgeous, as well. Simple but eye-catching.
