The start of this book, in which the author's father buys a diner, seems to be a perfect example of how achieving dreams isn't always a great thing. It's an interesting thought experiment to wonder if he would have been a different person with his daughters had he not bought the restaurant. While the synopsis shows that Erin is clearly a success, it definitely makes me wonder if she is one because achieving her dream wasn't easy, and possibly because there was a lot of elbow grease involved in making sure that it didn't just happen, it became sustainable.
