Bob Goff has invited readers into yet another inspiring narrative, emphasizing the imperative of loving everyone, always. It seems simple enough, but acting on this simple truth that our Father in heaven calls us to is not always easy. There is always someone that we are hesitant to engage with because of whatever differences or indifferences stir up the fear in us. Goff reminds and challenges us to live differently, loving the other as ourselves and leaning into the glorious messiness of truly living life in love with our neighbors.

Goff helps us to reconceptualise the neighbor, and love, by inviting us into seemingly insignificant moments in his life when he loved others. He also invites us into those moments when he doesn’t do this as well. The beauty in all of this is that he continues to fall forward, bringing readers along, as he seeks to love everyone, always, just like God does with us. I can only imagine if Dad (God) engaged me like I do His image bearers, near and far. I wouldn’t be adopted into His grace, nor a family so unfathomably vast as His is.

I am thankful for this book, Everybody, Always, and the truth it illuminates so brightly as I work to love as wrecklessly as God loves all of us.
