My grandmother always told me this. She never said a bad word about all the people that really hurt her in her life and was killed in a workplace shooting when I was 11, and I'm sure she'd probably have told me to love the man who did it. Another grandmother was on her deathbed and 3 of her 4 living children chose not to even call her to say goodbye because of some unknown quarrels. How do you love people like that? I'm not particularly religious but I know hate and anger is not good to hold on to and I would like to be more positive, even if I can't get to "love". And even though I'm not religious I have found inspiration in many books with a religious bent - Blue Like Jazz, the Best Yes, Scary Close - and I am curious to see if this book can help. In the preview it doesn't address these very difficult situations, but I hope that it might in the remainder of the book.
