This book was super twisty and I couldn't put it down! With a first sentence like “They found the bodies on a Tuesday”, I was immediately sucked in to the story. There’s multiple POV and dual timelines, and keeps you wondering how it’s all going to come together in the end.

The combination of the older brother in jail for a prior murder, the dad and sister trying to find out who the real killer was, and the now murders of Matt's whole family made for a super intense plot. The whole time I was reading I wondered how it was all connected.

I felt so bad for Matt, as his entire family is dead (minus the brother in prison for MURDER no less). I did think it was kind of weird how he had to go to Mexico alone to claim their bodies, and then everything that happened once he was there.

There were a few problematic parts though, such as the author referring to the authorities as "the Mexicans" and they way they were portrayed. There were characters that were stereotyped also.
