I have seen so many positive reviews and excited readers for this book, that I knew I had to read it! It's so fast-paced that I couldn't put it down until I knew what happened.

NYU student Matt Pine learns that every child's worst nightmare has come true. His parents, and 2 of this 3 siblings have died (the other sibling is in jail) while vacationing in Tulum. With no one left except his aunt and aging grandfather in Nebraska, Matt sets out with the help of the FBI to find out what really happened to his family. Was it really a gas leak, or was his family involved in something much more sinister?

I felt like this read more as a YA thriller. The main character is a college student, with college age friends, going through young adult stuff. The points of view go from him to the investigator, to his parents, and siblings, but his narration is the prominent one. I enjoyed the storyline, but had figured enough out of the twists so that the ending wasn't a complete surprise. I do hope the author (whoever they are!) writes more thrillers. The Pine family is also from Naperville, Illinois!

Electrifying, engaging, and fascinating, this is a great book for those who love thrillers.

A huge thank you to BookishFirst, the publisher, and the author for providing me an advanced copy!
