Okay thrilller
The book opened up strongly “They found the bodies on a Tuesday”. It is a slow burn which I normally don’t like but I found that it worked well in this book. It does take awhile to get going but it becomes quite fast paced towards the end. The last 20-30% is when I actually wanted to keep reading.
The two different mysteries came together seamlessly but I thought it was fairly obvious who the bad person was.. Even though there are multiple POVs I thought each character was developed pretty well. I love the Pine family and I’m still sad what happened to them. I also really loved Matt’s whole friend group and how they were there for him. I liked this but at the same time I thought it was okay.. it's good for a debut but i didn't find anything particularly amazing though that's just me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Publishers for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
