I really loved this thriller because of the well crafted plot and the well developed characters. The short chapters told from multiple POVs made this book very engaging and fast paced. The various clues to the multiple twists thrown at various places in the novel made it fun to try to decipher these twists and I was able to correctly guess some of them. I liked the no-nonsense FBI agent and the strength of character displayed by Matt. Evan is such a great father who never gives up on his kid and I was so impressed by his tenacity. Maggie really stole my heart because I loved her smartness and her sincerity towards her family.
There are multiple things in this book that made me feel that there is a connection between Danny's conviction and the murder of Pine family - from the initial screwed up investigation, the role of the company that Evan worked for, the serial killer aspect, attempted assault on Maggie etc.
This is my first book by Alex Finlay but this is definitely not the last.
