This book was highly anticipated (by me!) and I was so excited to read it. I had read an excerpt about 5–6 months ago, and it started with SUCH a bang, I just had to read it.

Every Last Fear starts with a family found dead in Mexico. From there, the book is a maze of twists and turns, ending with a surprise ending. Matt Pine is an NYU student, with a brother (Danny) in prison for killing his high school girlfriend, and a family that is dedicated to proving Danny's innocence. The family (mostly Danny) had been the subjects of a documentary, with a botched police interview that basically railroaded Danny into a false confession. A lot of attention has been put on the Pine family.

Matt, after a night of drinking, returns to his dorm room to find an FBI agent, there to inform him that his family has been found dead in their vacation rental in Tulum, Mexico. He, of course, is devastated. Both his parents, and his younger sister and brother were found dead. The Mexican authorities are requiring that he go in person to sign for the remains. He goes, but while there a series of suspicious and unusual events makes Matt think that there is more to the death of his family than meets the eye. In conjunction with the FBI, he helps to unravel the mystery surrounding their death.

This story is told from multiple points of view, so if that isn't your thing, then I would avoid this book. There are chapter told by Matt, by the FBI agent investigating the family's death, and Matt's mother. The POV of Matt's mother is told from past events, so the timeline also shifts to explain their actions, pre-death. Although it appears to be a lot of going back and forth, it is very well done and easy to follow.

As I stated above, this book is excellent and very twisty, with new plot twists and page turners often. I enjoyed reading it, and it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. It was a quick read, mostly because I just wanted to see what was going to happen! I really enjoyed it, and gave it 5 of 5 stars. I would highly recommend this book, especially if you love mystery/thrillers, books with plot twists, or books told from multiple points of view. This is your book!
