Matt Pine is an NYU student just trying live a semi-normal life. Years earlier, his brother was convicted of the murder of his girlfriend and is currently serving a prison sentence. The whole thing was made into a Netflix documentary and now the whole world knows Matt's family. One morning, federal agents show up at his college dorm and let him know that the rest of his family has perished while on a vacation in Mexico. Detective Keller is the main point of contact for Matt and this case although she is actually investigating the company Matt's Dad worked for formerly. Originally it was thought to be a gas leak with no foul play. But when Matt gets jumped in both NYC and Mexico, he begins to think their deaths may not have been an accident at all. And fortunately, Detective Keller thinks the same thing. As things start adding up, they are sent on a wild-goose chase to find the murderer and figure out how it is related to the crime that Matt's brother Danny supposedly committed. I found this novel very intriguing and hard to put down. There are so many twists and turns and everything is connected. I am so happy to have won this book in the raffle. It is definitely a five-star read!
