I didn't know what to expect of this book. Once I started reading it, I was hooked. The characters were relatable, clever and likeable. The plot! So many twists, action right where it needed to be, and not once was it boring! Without revealing any spoilers, the book centers on a family broken by a series of events that have to be taken apart and put back together like a puzzle in order to figure out what exactly happened. Never once did I even guess that the story would be as engaging as Every Last Fear was. At times I was genuinely scared by what was happening, trying to pick apart the pieces of the puzzle along with the main character, Matt. The book takes you on a wild roller coaster ride, covering both the past and the present, simultaneously propelling the story forward, giving the reader more clues. I honestly haven't read a book that held my interest like this in a while.
