Matt Pines, a student at NYU, has his life flipped upside down when he learns that his entire family, except for his brother Danny--who is serving a life sentence for the murder of his girlfriend--has been found dead in Mexico. The nation is already familiar with the Pine family, having been the subject of a documentary about Danny’s case, focusing on the belief that he was wrongfully convicted, so it's no surprise when the case draws an enormous amount of attention from both the media and others, including the FBI. Agent Keller, tasked with investigating the deaths, soon finds that the deaths are not only suspicious, but seem to be connected to Danny’s case and conviction. Facing threats, altercations and more, can Agent Keller and Matt uncover the truth before someone else loses their life?

Every Last Fear is a wickedly clever novel that grabbed me from the first page, refusing to let go until the last sentence. One of my favorite things about the novel is the structure. The events are seen through the eyes of many of the characters, and these different points of view allowed me to immerse myself within their individual stories, bringing with it different perspectives and emotions, and the nonlinear timeline creates a suspenseful puzzle of events and circumstances that come together seamlessly at the end. The characters themselves were relatable and well-developed, but I do wish I could have spent more time with Danny. I understand why his perspective wasn’t present more within the pages, but the pages he does occupy seemed almost like a tease.

Every Last Fear is a suspenseful, page-turning thriller that I greatly enjoyed and would recommend to anyone who likes to immerse themselves in a good book full of mysteries and secrets. It is a gripping story that will not let go once it has you in its grasps.
