I love a good mystery/thriller, and this one was no exception. For me it was one of those fast paced, unputdownable reads that I had to stay up until the wee hours of the morning to finish. I would definitely recommend this book.

I really enjoyed the pacing of this book. It was never dull for me, each chapter really pushed the story forward well. One thing in particular that I thought the author did well was utilizing multiple timelines. I don't always enjoy multiple POV shifts or multiple timelines, but I thought the author did a great job of using them to push the story forward. Based on the synopsis I actually thought the story would center much more around the character Matt Pine, but you really get to delve into the lives of all of the characters in the book. Given that it opens with the tragedy of the majority of the Pine family being found dead this allows readers to really connect emotionally to the characters and makes it all the more tragic.

My one critique I would say - without any spoilers - is that I felt the end was a little abrupt. I could have used one or two more chapters just to feel like everything was fully wrapped up. This is not to say that I found the ending unsatisfying, I just wish it were a little more fleshed out. That being said, I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for a good mystery that is fast-paced and hard to step away from!
