A murder case goes wrong for the accused's family.

This is a story about a family who for years has tried to prove that their oldest son didn't kill his girlfriend. He has been in prison for a while and claims he isn't the killer but no one will listen to him, until now. It doesn't help that they come from a very small town in Nebraska and people are judged harshly by others in that town. The Pine family has been trying to prove Danny, the oldest son didn't kill his girlfriend but someone else, and that evidence was held back at the trial that would prove this. A viral true-crime documentary suggests that this is true. Matt, who is in college gets a terrible phone call, his remaining family members were killed in Mexico. He knows something that others don't know about Danny, and now he is put in a terrible position. Should he tell the FBI what he knows or just leave things as they are? There are other hidden secrets in this family that comes out as you read the book. A very well written story. By the way, I too am from a small town in Nebraska.
