I absolutely love when the main character has already emotional turmoil of something that happened previous, and, that he is an outsider in a new or ongoing situation. In this case his family and why they were murdered and he was left alive.
I feel the intro of what I was able to read is interesting and I am willing to read more. The writing was good and Karen Slaughter is a famous thriller writer, so if she enjoyed it, maybe it'll be a good read.
The cover is a nice choice because I can see the main character doing something similar at one point in the book.
