The prologue was sufficiently shocking, but I didn't enjoy the writing once the book proper actually got going. It had some clunky moments that drew me out of the story and into style-critic mode, which is less than ideal. I also think, from the plot description, that this book might be biting off more than it can chew, class-commentary-wise.
