This book was so unique! Enter The Body offers accounts of Shakespearean female characters from their own perspectives. I enjoyed watching the women in this book rewrite their stories through a feminist lens.
I found this to be a quick, entertaining read. I enjoyed the unique format involving both stanzas and play dialogue. I feel as though I became invested in the stories of all the characters - some characters left me wanting more of their story!
I do feel as a reader I was lacking the background information on some of the Shakespearean works to fully understand the novel. I found myself pausing to research some of the characters. Perhaps a quick summary of the roles each character played in their original works would have made the story more easy to enjoy.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I like the idea of high schoolers picking up this book while studying Shakespeare as some justice for the female characters!
