I love Shakespeare's women because I don't think women were ever treated as real characters until his plays. He's portrayed so many archetypes and his tragic stories as especially good at it. Yet the author uses the characters it feels like to push a social message rather than really exploring the depth of the character's story. I think one of the biggest flaws of this book is that it thinks that all tragedy would be better if it had a happy ending. It misses the point that the reason these women are so memorable is because of their ends. Also these women came off ass catty. They bicker and interrupt each other which I'm not sure what exactly the point of it is. Also I have no idea why Lavinia was included in the story if she wasn't going to talk. I've heard people say that listening to the audiobook might add another layer to it so I might give that a shot.
