Ever since I first read Romeo and Juliet in school, I had been interested in Shakespeare's works, and recently I got a collection of all his works, so that was great! So, as soon as I saw the cover and the description, this book interested me. It was a great feminist retelling!

Before reading this book, I was only pretty familiar with Juliet, and I had to research a bit on Lavinia. I haven't read Titus Androncious, and in fact I didn't know anything about it.

This, like his plays, was also told in poetry. In the latter half of the book, the girls got to retell their stories and made some changes, which was super interesting to read. One thing that I wished, though, is that Lavinia would get more chances to talk.

Overall, I think this was an interesting book, and the author definitely put on a spin to plays we all know of. It's also written in a way that is able to let teenage girls connect with Shakespeare's female characters. I enjoyed reading it!
