This is my second book by this author and another 5-star read. I’m not a lover of Shakespeare or very familiar with his work, but even without that knowledge, this story was absolutely beautiful and told in such a unique and engaging format. With a theatre-like setting, the reader is dropped into the Trap Room along with teenage girls who endured the tragic endings of Shakespeare's work. Told in verse, the reader gets to know each of these girls and hears as they tell their own stories. Feminist themes bring the message home and you will fall in love with each of the main characters. Each section is “written” by a different leading lady and I loved how those poems featured their own styles which further highlighted the character development of each teen as well. This was a well-thought-out creative exploration of Shakespeare's work and the female roles within some of his most-known pieces.
