Shakespeare is wasted on the adolescent, whereby his themes, stories, women portrayed, and tremulous lives arnot appreciated and not understood until adulthood. As a teen, just reading a sentence took time and was a losing proposition. As an adult, the readings flow as do the meaningfulness of the characters. As such, the way the author shares pieces of the woman in Shakespeare and then offers up the readings from the actual play. This combination is like taking 2 and 2 and ending with 22 and not 4. The themes of love are entangled with the other themes of isolation, suicide, murder, adultery, etc. A book to read and reread for further depth and understanding. Let's go...
