Enter the Body is not a book that can be easily categorized and that's evident from this first impression. The main female characters from Shakespeare's most famous plays gather and retell their stories in verse - it's a unique approach that blurs the lines between play, book of poetry, and even ghost stories. Juliet's poetry is beautifully written capturing the plot and roller coaster of emotions in short phrases and clever word play. I imagine readers who know the plays well would appreciate the poetry moreso than if they're not familiar with the original work, but Enter the Body can stand on its own. I enjoyed the poetry more than the trap room scenes, but it serves to pull all the characters together.
