Oh gosh when I read the synopsis?! As a Hamlet devotee, a history nerd and just an enjoyer of good books, my heart skipped. I’ve read one of Joy McCullough‘s other books and it really impacted me. Absolutely full of highlights and notes. I wanted to do just the same with this First Look. Every single line of her writing is so beautiful. I haven’t read any Shakespeare retellings that stuck with me but this one made me forget that I was reading and just enthralled me. I’m especially excited for the Ophelia storyline.
The cover is definitely not my favorite. I would not pick this book up based on the cover, but that premise? I am hooked!
