As a fan of Joy McCullough's other books, We are the Ashes, We are the Fire and Blood Water Paint, I was very excited to take a look at this. Almost the entire book is written in verse which is an interesting format. It's typically difficult to write in an engaging manner, but McCullough has perfected this skill. This novel is a heart-wrenching and lovely story of the women in the plays of Shakespeare and their struggles.
