I think this book starting after the astronaut had come back from space (and not while they were still in space like typical space movies/books/stories). The writer was successful in the descriptions for the story as the former astronaut was feeling things that people on Earth do not have the experience of feeling after being in space for a year.
I also think the author did a good job at showcasing the whole story of the astronaut being in space while going through the trials and tribulations they were going through for the first time since coming back from outer space.
Also, I did like the writing style of this book. Having it in the first person was a good choice as it puts the writer right into the person's life and the reader feels what the person in the story is feeling firsthand. And I think having it in first person made us understand the familiar relationships as well in a firsthand way.
