Space has always been a fascination of mine. From movies like Apollo 13 and The Right Stuff to books about Neil Armstrong, I've always (ahem) gravitated to them. This was no different. A year in space? I can't even imagine the adjustment coming home, but I'd be interested to read about.

The prologue alone should hook the reader. An astronaut, now home, begins to suffer pain, swelling, and other symptoms that no emergency room could handle. Space sickness? Is there such a diagnosis? Maybe for the ERs around Houston or Orlando. At any rate, the writing is very descriptive, allowing the reader to "be there" with him while he's experiencing it.

So with all of those risks, going into space and more, why would a young boy decide that would be the journey for him?
