Scott Kelly has led an amazing life! This book alternated between detailing the one year stay upon the International Space Station, and his life leading up to that one year mission (including childhood, schooling, college, military, test piloting, and first years as an astronaut).
I found it fascinating to read what those aspiring to join NASA in the astronaut program went through, what traditions the astronauts have before launch, and the incredible life upon the Space Station itself.
What really sucked me into this book was the opening description of Scott dealing with being back on earth at the conclusion of the year long mission. Throughout the book, I was looking forward to more info on what happened after the first 48 hours back on earth. Unfortunately, the book ended with Scott back on earth and immediately entering his pool. Then a brief epilogue saying he's physically getting back to normal. So I was really disappointed not to hear the details of his adjustment back to earth. But otherwise I absolutely loved the book.
