This is such a late review due to time. I read this book shortly after I received it and I was FLOORED. It was so much more than I expected.
Kelly goes in-depth about what it takes to become an astronaut. He describes it, of course, through the lenses of his own life, which had rather unexpected events occurring throughout.
What really blew me away was the nitty-gritty descriptions of life on the space station. In an age where we have hopes to go to Mars or viably live in space, this is a stark reminder of the challenges we face in doing so. (No gravity means NO GRAVITY - I don't think many of us really what exactly that entails.)
This read proved to be utterly fascinating and I recommend it to anyone that enjoys biographies, astronomy, space travel, or, actually, anyone that enjoys reading. This is, quite simply, an amazing book.
