As much as I enjoy a good sci-fi book I eventually start to wonder how much of it could be real. What do you get used to and what do you really miss when you leave Earth behind?

I've only read the prologue of Endurance but I feel like I've just had my first real glimpse into what I've always wanted in a sci-fi book precisely because this isn't fiction.

And then, when Scott Kelly starts recounting what made him want to be an astronaut and it wasn't just seeing the moon landing, he immediately got my full attention. A lot of young kids watched that moon landing and most of them didn't become astronauts. I've wondered, but thought I would never know, what the difference was that made some people leave Earth once everyone knew it was possible.

I'm am so looking forward to reading the entire book and finding out more.
