I started this book wondering if it would be like The Martian, another book I really enjoyed. But no, it's better. Kelley gives insight not only to what his body went through after the year long mission, but what his mind went through just to get to the point to become an astronaut. I have always thought that astronauts excelled in school, studied hard, and had an Evel Knievel side to them. Kelley takes that impression and makes it personable. And a bit surprising. At least I got the Knievel side correct.
I have a feeling that as the book goes on, the adventure will continue and this book will take us on a wonderful journey into space, and into a man's life who just wanted to live life with adrenaline pumping 24/7.
