A lost kid, lives to take risks because risks excite, takes the biggest risk undertaken by NASA - a year in space. I think many kids will be able to relate to Scott Kelly's inability to focus, lack of achievement in school and drive to find a purpose. It is for this reason this book is important. Not only does it let us see more deeply into the life of an astronaut but it also gives kids with similar struggles a role model, a representation of themselves and shows them they too could potentially shoot for the moon, literally.
