I'd characterize this book as Mission Impossible crossed with The Da Vinci Code: quick-paced, thrilling, and with lots of tension and guessing about what's next.

The cover image does the story a service, through highlighting both the Ottoman Empire focus with the bright red flag and the racing heroes. Even more so, the snapshot of the sky with it's encroaching thunderclouds shows that stormy times are coming.

The scenery descriptions are great, and the travel is multiple, so jump on board and pick up a copy of Empire of Lies to help Kamal Arslan Agha and Nisreen keep the world safe.

I recommend this title to those who enjoy thrillers, mysteries, counterterrorism, general fiction and a book that's hard to put down.
