This political thriller has often been compared to The Man in the High Castle because of the alternative history but it is unique in its own right. The time traveling aspect is captivating in the way it is written and really makes you think and reflect on what might have been. This is what makes it so good and most importantly, relevant to life as we know it.
I love how Raymond Khoury masterfully melds science fiction with historical fiction. The result is a head scratching, makes you wonder what if story for the ages. The alternative title for this book is The Ottoman Secret and I find that I like that title just as much as it conjures this old world image of one of the most powerful empires of all time. I now want to read the backlist.
