I think that many people interested in history and stories set in previous times about conquerors and kingdoms would enjoy this book. One would have to possess a desire to read long passages about faraway times in order to be able to devote the time and effort to get through this book. The plotline seems interesting, but you'd have to be really interested in the subject in order to find it enjoyable. I like the idea of switching the setting from past to present, but it seemed hard to follow.
