The idea of an alternate future draws me in! One of my favorite books is 11/22/63, and it sounds like Empire of Lies has just as much excitement and adventure. I'm intrigued by the idea of the spread of the Ottoman Empire rather than the Roman Empire. Looking forward to reading this one!
