This was a very lyrical and poetic novel. There is not much dialogue in it. It is very descriptive. I say that right away because it won't be for everyone. I need a lot of dialogue and back and forth, otherwise I tend to get bored, which is what happened with me here. Unfortunately, I just couldn't get into it. I loved the concept and the idea of the plot and really wish I could have gotten more into it. I had a lot of questions about what was going on while I was reading the story but instead of that driving me to read further, it caused me to lose interest. I did like how it felt a bit magical and fairy-tale-ish. I think a lot of people will either love this book, or not get through it. It is definitely unique and one of a kind from any book that I have ever read! The way it is written and the plot is one of a kind. It will make you think on motherhood that is for sure.
