Wow, what a book. When I first started reading this I thought I'd fallen into some crazy cult that wouldn't realize their grip on me until I knew every detail of their culture. The first few pages of this book had me stunned. I wasn't sure what was real and what was fantasy. I thought the character was making up stories and not telling the truth about what day-to-day life was like in this little town where mother's kept disappearing. The lies that were told to the children were the most eerie of all and wouldn't leave my mind. How do mothers just disappear in this town and it is a normal part of their culture? In my search for answers I continued reading and at the end still had so many questions. My only regret is that I wish more of the questions I had were more fully explained at the end. If you are into cults and odd behavior this book will be perfect for you.
