I like the cover-- it's kind of vintage and quaint, but in a way that contrasts with the creepy subject matter. This theme continued throughout the first pages of the book, where the picturesque small town is contrasted with the strange affliction of mothers disappearing and the complacency of the townspeople. The mystery of where they are and why drew me in right away, and I'm interested to see how the rest of the story unfolds.
