When I read the blurb and saw that this book had elements of "The Lottery" by Shirley Jackson, I was already hooked. I LOVE this short story and have since I read it as a young girl, so my excitements to try a first impression went sky high!
The story from the start is captivating. I really like this author - who is new to me - writing style and the plot she has created. The concept really intrigues me and the premise of the story really has my mind racing wondering what's happening and is going to happen to our main character. I love a good mystery surrounding a small, tight-knight community.
