I found this book to be very reminiscent of both Margaret Atwood and Ursula LeGuin in that it explores topics like identity, community/individualism, capitalism/socialism through an ostensibly speculative fiction lens. The first chapter is tantalizing, well-crafted in both character introductions and world-building. I can't wait to read the full book!
