I love the writing! I cannot make up my mind whether I can read a whole book about mother’s leaving and it seems to be accepted. I understand the comment about Elsewhere having vibes of Shirley Jackson’s The Lottery. I want to know more about this new stranger Ruth and will Vera and Ruth develop a mother-daughter relationship.
