I am interested in this because I loved Saint X as well as comparisons to Shirley Jackson's The Lottery and Margaret Atwood. . I can tell right away that Elsewhere is something completely different from Schaitkin's debut and possibly even more my style. The setting is a timeless, isolated town with its own set of rules and ethics. Elsewhere seems to be yet another beautifully written story about secrets and ritual in a small town. I am also picking up on a lyrical contemplation on the responsibility of motherhood and losing oneself to it. I'm enthralled and cannot wait to read this book!!!!
