Ms. Schaitkin has an interesting idea for a story. I admire the imagination it takes to write a story like this. The reader has a lot of questions as the story unfolds. What is the purpose of the stranger Ruth’s visit? Will Ruth take any of the girls with her to Elsewhere when she leaves? Why do some of the mothers disappear and where do they go? The author has done a good job of setting the stage for what may prove to be an enchanting story or a disturbing one. Time will tell.
