This is a fascinating premise, though I don't tend to enjoy books that are centered around--or allegories of--patriarchy and issues of 'motherhood.' However, the writing here is engaging enough, though it might verge into the purple from time to time. The cover is certainly gorgeous. I'm left not quite sure how I feel about this book, to be honest.
