The writing is lyrical, atmospheric, and gorgeous. I am very intrigued by how the "affliction" grants them gifts and the magic that's being alluded to works in this world. I think this is going to be a very dark, gripping story, and I'm very interested in reading more to see what really goes on with these vanishing mothers. The cover is absolutely stunning.
