For starters, this cover is absolutely stunning in my opinion. This whole premise (and even the colorful cover) reminds me a lot of Midsommar the movie, so I was hooked from the start by this intriguing prose. What's even better is that I know The Lottery well from college work, so I love the comp titles too!
