I love the small town setting and the references to the state and areas I know. This latest story is a worthy addition to this series. Veronica is living with a life altering condition. Sawyer is the popular jock dealing with demons of his own. These two agree to work on a senior project together and their different worlds collide. As they investigate local hauntings and ghost, to determine if they are real, they end up redefining their pasts and their future. I love how well researched this story appears to be. Ms. McGarry includes enough factual details that a big chicken like me began to feel uneasy, especially since I recognized some of the places she included. This story also reflects the valuable message that you need to look beyond outward behaviors and rumors before you pass judgement on someone else. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves real world problems surrounded in mystery with hidden kernels of truth throughout! Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
