Unfortunately, the sample given in the First Look is not really long enough to form a good impression of the novel.
What I can gather is that at the beginning, Veronica is in love with her friend Leo. However, Leo is leaving for college soon. From the synopsis, we learn that Veronica falls for Sawyer, who happens to be living in the downstairs apartment where she lives. Perhaps there is a love triangle?
