Good balance of technique and step-by-step instructions
This book definitely piqued my interest. The cover is adorable, inviting, and eye-catching. Inside, the author maintains a great balance between explaining techniques (such as sketching first on transfer paper, to work out any imperfections), and step-by-step instructions. There are quality examples pictured for each step of the drawing process.
I can see this being a good choice for the beginner as well as the experienced artist. Kids will be drawn in by the cute animals, and beginners need not fear feeling intimidated, for the instructions are specific and the author anticipates (and guides the artist through) the toughest parts of each drawing. Even the experienced artist can learn several helpful drawing techniques to perfect their craft.
