I am not an artist and have never taken an art class, but I do enjoy drawing and sketching. This book is adorable and informative, teaching the reader about art supplies and how to use them and when to use them to produce certain effects. It also reveals how an artist should think about the world around them, suggesting that readers start looking at nature and animals as shapes and patterns. The author shows many adorable animals and how she created them and as an animal and nature lover, this book is so much fun to look at alone.
I would not consider this a book for beginners; artists and students who have already had experience in art would benefit most from this book. I did learn many things from this book, however, including the items listed above. Now I find myself seeing the details in other drawings and painting and hope I can now add depth and cuteness to my drawings too.
